Stone Water Impregnation and Some Technological Properties in Various Impregnation / Diffusion Times of East Beech (Fagus Orientalis Link) Wood

ABSTRACT In this study, some of the physıcal/mechanıcal properties of the wood were observed by impregnating the wood of East beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) with stone water named "Firetex" in accordance with ASTM 1413 76 standard. In this process, values ​​of % retention, full dry / air mass specific gravity, bending resistance values ​​are determined . According to the results of the experiment; highest retention at 45 min vacuum / 20 min diffusion (38.15 %), lowest 45 min vacuum at 30 min diffusion (29.73 %); the highest air dry weight was determined at 45 minutes vacuum at 20 minutes diffusion (0.75 g / cm3) and the highest full dry specific gravity at 45 minutes vacuum at 40 minutes diffusion (0.69 g / cm3); maximum bending resistance was determined at 45 minutes vacuum and 30 minutes diffusion (132.98 N / mm2).
