Coasts appear as an indispensable place in the daily life of the city. In coastal cities, in coastal use, they are places that shape not only the current experiences but also the city and its historical identities. These positions, which have the characteristic of being public, have various physical and social characteristics, the characteristics of those in the queue, when the feature is being sought. Before the 1980s, our country solved the problem of rapid urbanization, along with some problems in physical and social characteristics, relations and experiences are not formed, there is a need to establish relations with the place and to be directed to the locations in the environment. The public discovery here focuses on the “place” and its indicators. In this study, the coastal city of Trabzon coastal region will be discussed in depth, focusing on the physical and social characteristics that successful places have to offer and finally the place dependence on the ground will be discussed. The survey is located between the Beşirli region of Trabzon and Ganita. It was selected by random sampling. A total of 165 people, 78 women and 87 men, participated in the study. Open space characteristics and place dependence scale were used to assess the physical and social characteristics of the coastal area. As a result of the study, it was found that there is no significant relationship between the user's dependence on the place and their demographic characteristics. On the other hand, the use of place has been shown to affect the place dependence. According to the results obtained, which factors are effective in creating a place dependence on the is discussed.
