Abstract

Bir şehrin gece manzarası, o şehrin gece boyunca yeniden tanıtılması olarak değerlendirilebilmektedir. Hatta  kimi zaman gece manzarası insanların şehir hakkındaki düşünceleri üzerinde daha fazla etki bırakabilmektedir. Karanlık bir manzara deneyimi fikri, yumuşak şekillerin ve gölgelerin huzuru, sessizliği ve birliği ile tasvir edilebilmektedir. Şehirlerin yoğun enerjisi nedeniyle bu durum şehirde nadiren yaşanmaktadır. Bu yüzden şehrin gündüz nasıl göründüğü kadar gece manzarası da önemlidir. Gece peyzaj görünümü, şehir ekonomisinin yanı sıra şehrin "marka oluşumunu" da olumlu yönde  etkilemektedir. Bir şehrin gece görüntüsü,o şehrin prestijinin ve imajının en önemli unsurudur.Kentlerde insan yoğunluğu nedeniyle şehir ekonomisinin ve vatandaşların yaşam tarzlarının gelişmesinden bu yana çoğu insan, gündüzleri iş hayatına odaklanmışken; artık  gece vakitleri onların boş zamanları haline gelmektedir.


Bu çalışma kentsel peyzaj  tasarım kapsamında gece manzarası çalışmalarına katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Literatür çalışmaları ile desteklenerek gece manzarası tasarımı için stratejiler belirlenmiş, gece manzarası ve aydınlatmanın bir şehri tanımlamada ve uygun tasarım önerileriyle bir şehir imajı yaratmada nasıl yardımcı olduğuna vurgu yapmak için  bir takım tespitler yapılmıştır.
