Publishing Policies & Ethics

Standards for editorial decisions, peer review, open access and the published record.

Publication identity

The electronic ISSN (eISSN) of SETSCI Conference Proceedings is 2687-5527. The registered DOI prefix is 10.36287; assigned article DOIs begin with 10.36287/setsci and include an article-specific suffix. The prefix alone is not an article DOI.

Proceedings are published as volumes, with individual article records and the identifiers available for each publication. A complete DOI is displayed on an article page when assigned.

The archive also includes volumes under the historical serial title Setsci conference indexing system, ISSN 2618-6446. See the publication history for the linked titles and archive chronology.

Publishing policies & ethics

SETSCI is committed to publishing integrity and academic honesty. Authors, editors and reviewers are encouraged to follow the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Editorial decisions about conference submissions are made by the proceedings editors and the event's organizing or scientific committee.

The Editorial Board supports ethical publishing practices and helps guide editorial decisions. Allegations of research misconduct should be examined by the relevant editor and publisher, with the conference committee or institutions involved where appropriate.

Authors

  • Submit original work without plagiarism.
  • Report findings accurately, without fabricated or falsified data.
  • Cite sources properly and disclose relevant conflicts.

Editors

  • Evaluate submissions fairly and objectively.
  • Make decisions on academic merit, without improper influence.
  • Handle integrity concerns and protect the review process.

Reviewers

  • Provide unbiased, constructive feedback.
  • Keep submissions and review information confidential.
  • Do not use privileged access for personal advantage.

Everyone involved in publication is expected to follow SETSCI's policies and the principles of academic integrity.

Open access & publication fees

Articles are immediately and permanently free to read and download. Copying and redistribution are governed by the licence displayed on each article. Authors retain copyright as described in that licence; the earlier SETSCI site identified Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 as its publication licence.

Under the proceedings model described by SETSCI, online publication is sponsored by the conference organizers and individual authors are not charged an additional publication fee for an agreed volume. Organizers can confirm the terms for a proposed volume with the publishing office.

Digital Object Identifiers

A DOI is a persistent identifier used to cite and link to an electronic article. SETSCI displays an article's DOI when it has been assigned and registered. Readers should use the DOI shown on the article page; a DOI is not implied for records that do not display one.

Peer review

Proceedings proposals are evaluated for their scholarly fit. For accepted volumes, conference organizers and editors appointed by the program committee manage the review of individual papers and decide which are selected. The conference supplies a statement describing the review process for its published volume.

For proceedings published from 2019 onward, each accepted full paper, abstract, poster contribution and other peer-reviewed research contribution is evaluated by at least two reviewers before acceptance. A contribution may receive more reviews. Editorials and prefaces are editorial content and are not peer reviewed. The review model may vary between conferences, but this minimum does not.

Reviewers assess submissions on academic merit. The earlier policy set out these questions for consideration:

  1. Is the topic relevant to the event and of interest to researchers?
  2. Does the abstract contain the required information, and are the keywords appropriate?
  3. Is the research goal stated clearly in the introduction?
  4. Is the paper organized coherently around that goal?
  5. Are the methods appropriate and applied correctly?
  6. Do the results and discussion follow logically from the work?
  7. Is relevant literature cited?
  8. Does the paper engage with recent work in its field?
  9. Is its length appropriate to the contribution?
  10. Are figures, tables, legends and notation used clearly?
  11. Is the writing understandable?
  12. What is the work's originality and contribution to the field?

After publication

Routine changes to a published article address errors such as missing or incorrect figures, tables or equations, and typographical errors in author details. A published record is not silently replaced. Substantive problems, including misconduct, may require a formal correction, withdrawal or retraction with a visible notice and publication history.

To report an error or concern, contact the conference editor or email info@set-science.com.

Editorial committee

The Editor-in-Chief guides the editorial office on scope, development and publishing policy, considers conference partnerships, and supports the Editorial Board and editorial staff.

Proceedings editors are commonly the conference chair or co-chairs. They manage peer review, select papers, deliver the complete proceedings for production and prepare the required front matter.
