Abstract
Due to increase in heating rate of initial powders used for production of aluminium matrix composites in sintering furnace, both formation of undesired phases in content of the composite materials were prevented and production costs and duration were tried to be reduced. As method, heating volume was reduced to 2.38 L by making a chamber covered with wire resistance inside the sintering furnace which has an internal volume of 8 L in present. Thus, the heating rate determined as 5,8 oC/min. in previous furnace system has increased to three times by reaching 17,5 oC/min. with renewed furnace design. At low heating rate, observed brittle Al3Ti phase in microstructure of composites is no longer in microstructure with high heating rate.
