Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Mobilya Tasarımında Geometrik Form Tercihlerinin Veri Analizi ile Değerlendirilmesi: Sinop Üniversitesi Örneği

Mobilya yüzyıllardır insanlığın kültürel zenginliğinin bir yansıması olmuştur. Aynı zamanda dünya ekonomisinde mobilya endüstrisi önemli bir yere sahiptir. Fakat bu endüstride rekabet hızlı bir şekilde artmaktadır. Mobilya ürünü için estetik, fonksiyonellik, dayanıklılık ve maliyet açısında çok farkı türleri vardır. Mobilya tercihleri yaşa, cinsiyete sosyal çevreye göre değişebilmektedir. Tüketiciler genellikle ilk olarak mobilyanın estetik görünüşüne göre karar vermektedir. Bazı durumlarda sadece görünüş nedeni ile bile mobilya ürünü red edilebilmektedir. Veri madenciliği bir çok alanda kullanılmakta ve önemli değerler oluşturmaktadır. Veri bilimi üzerine yapılan bilimsel çalışmalar hızla artmaktadır. Veri analizi iş dünyasının da ilgisini çekmektedir. Mobilya tasarımında geometrik formlar kritik bir rol oynar. Bu çalışmada Sinop üniversitesi öğrencilerinden anket yolu ile veriler elde edilmiştir. Ankete öğrencilerin özellikleri (cinsiyet, yaş, memleket) ve mobilya tasarımda en çok kullanılan geometrik form (kare, daire, üçgen ve türevler) tercihleri sorulmuştur. Daha sonra elde edilen veriler karar ağacı algoritmaları kullanılarak anlamlı bilgiler elde edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda belirli bölümlerdeki üniversitesi öğrencilerinin mobilyada geometrik form eğilimleri belirlenmiştir.  

Furniture has been a reflection of the cultural richness of humanity for centuries. At the same time, the furniture industry has an important place in the world economy. However, competition in this industry is increasing rapidly. For furniture, there are many different types of aesthetics, functionality, durability and cost. Furniture preferences vary according to age, gender and social environment. Consumers usually decide on the aesthetic appearance of furniture first. In some cases, the furniture product can only be rejected because of its appearance. Data mining is used in many areas and creates important values. Scientific studies on data science are increasing rapidly. Data analysis draws attention in the business world. Geometric forms play a critical role in furniture design. In this study, data were obtained from the students of Sinop University by means of a questionnaire. The characteristics of the students (gender, age, country) and geometric form (squares, circles, triangles and derivatives) which are the most used in furniture design were asked in the survey. Then data obtained by using decision tree algorithms were obtained. At the end of the study, the geometric form trends of the university students in certain departments were determined.
