Topografik Özelliklerinin Zeminin Dinamik Davranışına Etkisinin Bir Boyutlu Analiz Yöntemiyle İncelenmesi
Abstract

Investigation of the Effect of Topographic Features on the Dynamic Behavior of Soil Using a One-Dimensional Analysis Method
The most important problem encountered in the design of structures is the accurate and precise prediction and consideration of the dynamic effects that may occur in the soil as a result of earthquakes. The characteristics of the earthquake motion likely to occur in a field depend on many factors such as tectonic structure, fracture mechanism, strike effect, epicenter distance, geological structure, and the effect of local soil conditions. The increase in the amplitude of earthquake waves as they pass through soft soil layers near the surface is called ground amplification. The changes in ground amplification depending on the region under investigation are called "local effects". The surface geometry, subsurface soil layers, and bedrock geometry that cause local effects are called topographic features. In reality, in regions with topographic irregularities such as valleys, plains, steep slopes, and hills, the dynamic behavior in the second and even third dimensions is affected during earthquake motion. In this study, the dynamic soil behavior of the Kastamonu Central District region, which was selected as the investigation area, was examined in one and two dimensions. One-dimensional ideal soil profiles and cross-sections of the site were created using the geological-geotechnical study report (Module Planning, 2011) which forms the basis of the additional revision zoning plan. DeepSoil software was used for the one-dimensional analysis of the dynamic behavior of the soil, and each soil layer was defined with damping relationships appropriate to its material properties. National and international characteristic earthquake acceleration records selected from the literature were used as earthquake records, and dynamic soil behavior analyses were performed. The obtained values were created in the form of surface peak acceleration-time graphs. In addition, to examine the variation of surface acceleration values with topography, the surface acceleration values found for each earthquake record were compared using soil cross-sections.
