Matting is one of the handicrafts that have existed ever since. With the existence of mankind, the needs were born, and these needs began to be acquired from nature. Wicker is a type of mooring that is usually made by passing dried-up beets together, usually used to spread the ground, to close the ceiling of houses, or to harvest cereals such as bulgur. The thickness of straw depends on the fineness or thickness of the reed. The weaving weaving that has existed since the Neolithic period is one of the handicrafts which took place in the history of the Turks and continues today in the rural areas. The art of maturing, also known as straw mackerel, has become a profession for people in some rural areas and has contributed to the family economy as well. Aksaray In the village of Akhisar, straw weaving is still continuing as a profession. In the village, which is one of the first places to come to mind in terms of straw weaving, this profession has succeeded to come up with the apprentice relationship with the apprentice. The mats woven in almost every home in the past have not touched much today. With this research, information about matting, used materials, usage areas and current situation in Akhisar village has been collected and aimed to share this information..
