Experimental design methods used in optimization of engineering problems and processes in many industrial fields have been shown to be applicable in road superstructures within this study. Using the special purpose statistical experiment design program, optimization studies have been carried out on Marshall design performance criteria which are widely applied in asphalt concrete design in many countries. Experiment strategy was established by using response surface methods (RSM). Four factors affecting the process were identified and four dependent variables were evaluated as performance criteria. Mathematical models of dependent variables were generated and statistical analyzes were performed. The identified factors are ranked at the desirable level by evaluating them under optimum conditions. Experimental design techniques are used to reduce the number of experiments according to normal conditions, so that time-consuming laboratory studies will be performed in a shorter time. It is shown that experimental design methods can provide advantages in determining these effects in a short period of time, given that there are dozens of unknown additives in road superstructures. Considering investments in road pavements and limited economic opportunities, the use of innovative approaches such as experimental design techniques in superstructure performance research is important in managing these p
