Today, rapid population growth and the development of technology have brought about the problem of waste. In order to solve this problem, it is first necessary to reduce the waste generation at the source. This can be achieved by raising awareness of the consumer. People need to be sensitive to the environment and environmental problems. In particular, women and children play a primary role in managing household waste. Within the scope of the project, presentations on recycling and environmental pollution were made by students of Kocaeli University Hereke Ömer İsmet Uzunyol Vocational School, Environmental Clearing and Control Department at 20 elementary schools, middle schools and primary schools in Gölcük, Kocaeli. A total of 3 728 students were reached between 08.05.2017 and 05.06.2017. Presentations were realized with 3 groups. Women targeted as the target group were tried to be reached through, KOMEK, Public Education Courses, Koran Courses, school family unions, non-governmental organizations. Women were targeted in the second phase of the project. For this purpose, a panel was held on 26.12.2017 at the Gölcük Art Gallery Meeting Hall entitled "The Role of Gölcük Waste Management in the Modeling of the Child and the Woman's Service Model". Before the panel, a survey was conducted to measure participant environmental and waste management awareness. A second survey was conducted after the panel, aiming to measure achievements. Immediately after the panel, an exhibition was organized with various products made from waste materials and photographs of nature. It can be said that all of these studies have provided children and women with information on recyclable products, reducing waste at the source and attracting interest in the collection at the source.
