Sivrihisar has managed to preserve the unique characteristics of its traditional urban texture and buildings until today. This study is aimed at the traditional buildings of Sivrihisar and the formation of its urban texture; and attempts to portray the urban texture of the District and to analyse how the relationships between public, semi-public and private spaces are formed. The analysis of buildings as the foundations for traditional urban texture provides unique insight for city-building interactions and setup. This study attempts to render the traditional buildings and the city that they have shaped from its foundations via shape grammar methods and analyse them and their setup in terms of public, semi-public and private spatial usage. The study concluded that traditional buildings were shaped in accordance with cognitive rules and the buildings also abided by these rules when forming the urban texture together, therefore ruling out any notion of randomness.
