Trauma Training in First and Emergency Aid Programs

First and emergency aid technicians are health workers who work in emergency pre-hospital medical services and who need urgent care to be applied to the patient. First and emergency technicians are obliged to provide emergency prehospital care until the patient reaches hospital conditions. First and emergency help technicians, Vocational School of Health Services of Universities, First and Emergency Aid Technicians are studying in associate degree programs. Associate Degree education is an important period in which first and emergency technicians gain knowledge and skills related to emergency care that should be performed before the hospital. One of the lessons given to the students in order to provide appropriate prehospital emergency care for traumatic illnesses encountered before the hospital is Trauma Course. Within the scope of the students trauma course; trauma kinematics, general approach to multiple trauma patients, bleeding control and shock, thoracic trauma, head trauma, spinal trauma, eye trauma, pelvis trauma, abdominal and urinary tract trauma, pediatric trauma, geriatric trauma, musculoskeletal trauma they are receiving pre-hospital emergency intervention training. In this presented review, the task descriptions of first and emergency aid technicians, the importance of pre-hospital trauma patient care, the problems related to trauma education and suggestions for solutions were given. .
