AI Policy

Responsible disclosure and human accountability for AI-assisted work in SETSCI proceedings.

Last updated 28 September 2026

Human responsibility

Generative AI tools may assist with language, formatting or other tasks, but they cannot be listed as authors. Named authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, data and conclusions of the entire paper, including material produced with AI assistance. Authors must check outputs for errors, invented references and inappropriate reuse of third-party material.

When to disclose use

Authors should disclose AI use that materially shaped the research, analysis, images, code or written content. The disclosure should identify the tool, its purpose and which parts of the work it affected. Routine spelling or grammar assistance need not be described in the same detail. Disclosure does not transfer responsibility from the authors to the tool.

Editors and reviewers

Editors and reviewers must preserve manuscript confidentiality. They should not upload unpublished submissions, review reports or personal data into an external AI service unless the conference's process expressly permits it and the required safeguards are in place. An AI-generated assessment does not replace the reviewer's own scholarly judgment.

Concerns

Undisclosed substantial AI-generated material, fabricated references or manipulated results may be examined under the Publication Ethics policy. Questions can be sent to info@set-science.com.
