Abstract

Hastanın pnömoni tedavisi on günde tamamlandı.

Nursing Care of a Cardiac Surgery Patient in the Intensive Care Unit According to Imogene King's Conceptual Systems Model: Case Presentation

King's Conceptual Systems Model enables the individual to participate in their own care, and determines short-term and long-term goals, the extent to which these goals are achieved, and any shortcomings in achieving them. The study was conducted on a patient who underwent 5-vessel coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery at a university hospital. The data for the study were collected using data collection-evaluation, diagnosis, and daily planning methods. The steps of the nursing process according to Imogene King's Conceptual Systems Model were examined. Patient DB, 52 years old, was admitted to the intensive care unit with a diagnosis of anterior acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and pulmonary edema. Cardiac arrest developed in the patient. Short-term cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was performed. The patient was intubated. Rapid Ventricular Atrial Fibrillation (AF) was present in the patient, and its rhythm was restored to sinus rhythm with medical treatment. The patient's pneumonia treatment was completed in ten days. Because the patient had a multi-vessel problem, the patient was taken to surgery as soon as possible. A 5-vessel CABG surgery was performed. Following the 5-vessel CABG surgery, our patient, who was monitored in the intensive care unit, received nursing care according to Imogene King's Conceptual Systems Model. Nursing care given according to King's Conceptual Systems Model, based on critical thinking processes, increases individuals' participation in their own care, ensures the evaluation of the individual in all aspects, requires highly developed thinking skills in nursing practices, and thus improves the quality of care.
